Nestled into a dramatically sloping site at the foot of the mountains overlooking Lake Mead, this house follows an "upside-down" strategy: a series of half-levels progress up from the garage, entry, and bedrooms, culminating in the main living spaces at the uppermost level of the house. Here, the living room takes full advantage of the most desirable views of the lake and mountains - populated by herds of bighorn sheep, fox, quail, and the like. The owner's favorite space is a small "inglenook" that affords views to the lake through a corner window and back to the mountains through the adjacent living room.
